"Seek in your daily lives, not self-glorification, but the glory of God. Intelligently subordinate your own wills to the will of the Father in heaven."
Jesus, The Urantia Book, Page 1907:2 (175:1.10)
"The hell continues. There is something in my brain that is preventing me from seeing all the benefits of my present situation. This means that either there are no benefits in the present situation, or that I have some sort of mental block. .." (3rd June 2007)
It's only two years since I wrote that. I can't even remember what it was that led me to make that statement, probably a combination of things, but all I know is that as a result of constant prayer, faithfulness, steadfastness, my situation has been transformed. For now I'm winning.
NEVER GIVE UP HOPE. HOPE IS ETERNAL AND UNQUENCHABLE. THIS MEANS THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING AROUND THE CORNER READY TO LIFT US.

I was born in Essex. My parents were Greek Cypriots who moved to London just after the second world war. The road where I was born isn't there now, there's a flyover instead, but I grew up with some nice memories of a bustling town, a typical English high st. My dad ran the fish restaurant in the high street for many years, which was opposite the ABC cinema and just down the road from the Palais. I think there was a Unigate milk depot next to my father's shop.
The rest of the high st was peppered with the usual names, Marks and Spencer, BHS, I think a Burtons Menswear and maybe a Top Shop too, as well as some hardy independents like the furniture shop Harrison Gibsons and the sell-all department store, Bodgers. I don't know if they are still around. The year I was born Harrison Gibsons had a fire.
We soon managed to move out into the suburbs. We had a massive garden and a big football ground next to us which was later developed into houses.
I had a great education but when I graduated I had no idea what I was going to do next.....
"THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM" Proverbs 1.7

My first job was with a double glazing co. There was a recession on and it was the best I could do. I found myself knocking on doors getting leads for sales closers. I was soon promoted and making my own sales.
That year gave me the sales experience I needed to impress the National Sales Manager of a leading confectioners.
My first posting was Scotland. Meanwhile a young Scottish lass called Jackie was completing a spell in Berlin. She had left home to do some travelling, but was now preparing to return. Her family lived in a small village just outside Stirling, a short drive away from the Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, and Dollar Castle, in other words an idyllic Scottish setting loaded with history. This is exactly where my sales manager sent me to cover for a sales representative who was about to go into hospital.
As I checked into my hotel, one dull Sunday night, raining outside, Jacke had checked out of her shift as the new receptionist. She would check back in the next morning, and we would meet.
